May 09, 2006 - 9:24 a.m.

Today started off very crazy. I woke up at 7:45, Eliza woke up 10 min later and Moira 10 min after that. We just hang out in bed for 30 min telling jokes and tickling each other. Then we get up and I go check my email for 20 min while the girls play. While I'm checking my email, I hear Moira call me and I just think she's in the closet playing hide and seek because she usually does this in the morning. So I get done, go to get the kids and Moira has LOCKED HERSELF IN HER ROOM. Really, I only checked my email for 20 min MAX. And she locks herself in the bedroom. For 10 min I try to get her to unlock the door but she's only twisting the knob, not the lock. (It's a twisty lock, not a push lock) So I run downstairs, grab a screwdriver and a chopstick. I first try to unlock the door by sticking the chopstick in the little hole on my side of the doorknob, no such luck. Next came the screwdriver, I took apart the door knob and the pushy thing that connects the door to the door jam doesn't come out. So there we are with no door knob, a big hole where it goes in the door and the pushy thing not letting me open the door. I think for a minute and decide to call the associate pastor's wife in hopes that she could give me any ideas. She hands me off to her husband who is a very handy type of person and tells me that I could take it apart bit by bit and if that doesn't work then he could come over to break the door because the door and the door knob are much cheaper to replace then the doorjam. So there I was talking to him while I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to take apart the pushy door thingy and I push on something with the pliers and the door opens. And all this happened by 8:45 this MORNING. So how was your morning?
